We offer 6-week pottery and ceramic classes during weeknights. Read below to learn about what classes are like at Suwanee Clayworks. Registration for our Fall session will open on July 20th at 10am.
Pottery and Ceramics Classes
What’s Included in Each Class
Classes run for 6 weeks within an 8-week session, giving you time to dive deep into new skills with guidance from experienced instructors.
We offer classes every weeknight, as well as morning classes on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. All adult classes are $300.
Each class registration includes:
2.5 hours of instruction time per class
6 classes over 8 weeks
1st bag of clay and firing fees
1 shelf for project storage
Weekly demos
Unlimited studio practice time during Open Studio hours

Schedule of Classes
The exact schedule will differ depending on the session, but typically, we offer the following:
Wheelthrowing classes: Monday evenings, Tuesday mornings, Tuesday evenings, Wednesday evenings, Thursday evenings, Friday mornings, and Friday evenings
Handbuilding classes: Wednesday mornings, Wednesday evenings, Thursday mornings, and Thursday evenings
Sculpture classes: Tuesday evenings [sometimes Tuesday mornings]
We don’t offer 6 week classes on Saturday or Sunday!
Workshops
Can’t commit to 6 weeks during the week quite yet? Consider taking one of our one-day workshops in wheelthrowing or handbuilding, focused on creating one project.

Wheel
Ready to experience the magic of the potter’s wheel? Our classes teach the fundamentals of centering, pulling, and shaping clay into beautiful, functional pieces. From mugs to vases, you’ll create unique pottery with guidance from our experienced instructors—perfect for beginners or potters refining their skills.

Kids Clay Creators
For kids ages 6–11, inspire their creativity and imagination by enrolling them in our Clay Creators class! Through hands-on projects, they’ll learn pinch pots, coil building, and slab construction while making plates, vases, wind chimes, and more. All materials are included, and projects are food-, dishwasher-, and microwave-safe.

Teens Wheel & Handbuilding
For ages 12–16, this six-week class lets teens get creative with clay! They’ll learn handbuilding techniques—pinch pots, coils, and slabs—to make mugs, bowls, trays, and more, plus try the pottery wheel. Each week features new projects, texture and surface decoration, and finished pieces ready to take home.
